Job Title: Radiology Technologist I

Location: Barrington, Illinois

Job Summary:

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Barrington, Illinois. This dynamic imaging specialist will work closely with our radiologists to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the success of our department.

Responsibilities:
  • Position patients, adjust equipment, secure, immobilize, and use support devices as needed to perform procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Determine appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality images for radiologists.
  • Consistently perform two patient identifiers prior to each examination and document patient history and reason for prescribed tests.
  • Maintain current ARRT, IEMA, and CPR certifications without being prompted and adhere to established safety standards and practices.
  • Operate more advanced fluoroscopic and radiographic exams throughout the hospital, including assisting radiologists with fluoroscopic procedures and operating portable radiographic equipment and C-arms.
  • Assure accuracy of exams performed and requisitions, maintain supplies and cleanliness for assigned rooms, and perform clerical duties such as maintaining patient records and answering phones.
  • Coordinate patient flow, transport patients into and out of the department, check film quality, and prepare radiographic/fluoroscopic rooms for procedures.
  • Participate in problem-solving issues addressing patient care, department operations, quality assurance, interdepartmental relationships, and employee morale.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited AMA School of Radiology or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience as a General Radiographer with competency in performing complex c-arm cases and fluoroscopy.
  • ARRT certification, IEMA accreditation in medical radiation technology, and CPR certification.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, ability to interact with customers at all levels, and strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and work rotating shifts any day of the week.
