pbJob Summary:/b/ppGulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a skilled Structural Mechanic 2 to join our team in St. Louis. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of structural assembly operations, including assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, drilling and riveting operations, and sheetmetal layout and fabrication./ppbKey Responsibilities:/b/pollibSafety and Quality:/b Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures, and varied drilling and riveting operations, ensuring parts/assembly meet requirements./lilibAssembly and Fabrication:/b Rivet structural assemblies and parts using all tools required, and display the ability to remove fasteners without damaging structure./lilibBlueprint Reading and Interpretation:/b Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, type, size, and hole pattern for rivets, cut and form plastics, and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents./lilibQuality Control:/b Check all work and ensure a defective-free assembly prior to final inspection./lilibLog Maintenance:/b Maintain and use all logs and records, including MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs./lilibCollaboration and Communication:/b Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners, and utilize proper tooling to shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information./lilibRepair and Rework:/b Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), Production Change Orders (PCO), and perform necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity./lilibHousekeeping and Safety:/b Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company 5S Program, and comply with all safety regulations, using personal protective equipment as required./lilibContinuous Improvement:/b Participate in continuous improvement activities, including YIAW, Kaizen events, and other initiatives./lilibTool Maintenance:/b Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment, and return items to the tool room after use./lilibGround Support Equipment:/b Ensure standard operating procedures are followed when operating ground support equipment./lilibWaste Management:/b Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags./lilibJob Charging:/b Ensure accurate daily job charging to the aircraft./lilibCommunication and Teamwork:/b Exchange job-related information and coordinate work activities between shifts through turnover report meetings and direct contact with leadership./lilibShop Equipment Maintenance:/b Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs./lilibLean Activities:/b Support Lean Activities./li/olpbRequirements:/b/pollibEducation and Experience:/b High School Diploma or GED required, 2 years related structural assembly experience, and experience working with Solumina and Smarteam preferred./lilibSkills and Abilities:/b Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, basic computer skills, basic shop math skills, read a scale, and perform basic shop math./lilibPersonal Qualities:/b Must have essential personal skills, including an aptitude for hands-on craftwork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, ability to work with people, and meet demanding schedules./lilibPhysical Demands:/b Must be able to work with composite resins and materials, work any shift, climb ladders/stands/stairs, work in small spaces or restricted areas, and lift 50 lbs./lilibLanguage and Communication:/b Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language./li/olpbAdditional Information:/b/ppGulfstream Aerospace Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled.
