New England Wire Products Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee the sourcing and purchasing of materials, manage supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective procurement strategies align with the company's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and supplies. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.

Inventory Control:

Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of necessary materials without overstocking. Work closely with the production and inventory teams to forecast material needs and adjust purchasing plans accordingly. Implement and maintain inventory management systems to track and report on stock levels.

Supplier Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services. Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers and address any issues or discrepancies. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve any supply chain disruptions or delays.

SAP Utilization:

Utilize SAP software to manage purchase orders, inventory, and supplier data. Generate reports and analyze data within SAP to track procurement performance and identify areas for improvement. Ensure accurate and up-to-date information is maintained in the SAP system.

Cost Management:

Monitor and analyze market trends to identify potential cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost-control measures to manage the procurement budget effectively. Prepare and present cost analysis reports to senior management.

Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor the purchasing team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance. Conduct training sessions to enhance team members' skills and knowledge of procurement best practices. Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment within the purchasing department.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Proficiency with SAP software is preferred. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
