In the role of SOC Manager, you will serve as the primary local authority for SOC analysts in the United States, acting as the main escalation point for the region while overseeing incident management responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will participate in an on-call rotation to address any significant and critical incidents outside of standard working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, manage, and mentor a team of security professionals, including setting priorities, coaching, evaluating work outputs, conducting personnel reviews, and providing regular updates on the security team's activities. Oversee and engage in the on-call rotation for security-related issues.
- Direct the cyber security incident response and support mechanisms, ensuring that all security escalations are resolved within the service levels defined by management.
- Oversee all installations of security-related applications, security operations playbooks, incident response strategies, processes, procedures, and equipment. Drive proactive monitoring and reporting for security controls while identifying opportunities for security automation.
- Manage vulnerability assessment processes and penetration testing initiatives, coordinating the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and performance of security operations controls through key performance indicators (KPIs) and seek continuous improvement in security monitoring and incident response processes.
- Monitor and react to security incidents, conducting containment and forensic investigations as necessary.
Experience & Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields such as Statistics, Data Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- At least 7 years of experience in leadership roles within information security.
- A comprehensive understanding of information systems.
- Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, or CISM are preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Understanding of best practices and their implementation at an organizational level.
- Strong analytical skills and the capability to address problems as they arise.
