POWER Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Transmission Siting and Permitting Project Manager to join our Eastern Environmental Services Project Management and Planning Department team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects at various stages and locations, leading project teams for key clients, and developing/maintaining client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct routing/siting studies, analyses, and associated reports
  • Develop strategy for public involvement programs; attend and participate in open-houses, public meetings, and public hearings
  • Serve as a siting and environmental permitting subject matter expert
  • Prepare and monitor project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Supervise and mentor staff
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, attorneys, planners, permitting and environmental specialists, and real estate experts

Requirements

  • BS or BA in Environmental Studies, Natural Sciences, or related degree
  • Ten years of experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects for a variety of energy-related projects
  • Proven Article VII and EM&CP experience, including management of Article VII and EM&CP filings
  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with New York State agency personnel and decision-makers, including the NYSDEC
  • Demonstrated work experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, and communicating with clients and project staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Studies, Natural Sciences, or related degree
  • Project Management Professional certification; other professional certifications as applicable to technical expertise
  • Contract negotiations and management
  • Experience preparing and providing expert witness testimony
