Key Responsibilities and QualificationsIn this role, you will:
- Rapidly assess and prioritize incoming patients.
- Conduct thorough nursing evaluations and stabilize patients.
- Deliver direct nursing care while overseeing non-licensed staff within the RN's scope of practice and established protocols.
- Provide patient education and follow-up care instructions, making necessary referrals.
Qualifications required:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure (ASN) from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. A compact license is acceptable. A BSN is required within 24 months of hire.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- A minimum of one year of experience in an acute care environment, with at least one year in the emergency department.
- CEN and/or CPEN certifications are preferred.
- ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within six months of hire.
- TNCC/ENPC certifications are required within 18 months.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression training must be completed within one year of employment.
