Compensation: $83,200 - $124,800 per year

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Leader for General Medicine to join our team at the University of New Mexico Hospitals.

About the Role:

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a Registered Nurse to take on a leadership position in our General Medicine department. As a Nurse Leader, you will work closely with the healthcare team to provide direct care to patients, lead by example, and promote a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide safe and effective care to assigned patients, taking into account their age-specific needs.
  • Clinical Leadership: Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Precepting and Evaluation: Participate in the orientation process and assume precepting responsibilities for new personnel, promoting a smooth transition into the role.
  • Emergency Measures: Assist with or initiate emergency measures in response to sudden adverse developments in patients, prioritizing patient safety above all else.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Credentials: Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement state; CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification within 30 days.

Working Conditions:

This is a heavy work position requiring physical exertion, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. You may be exposed to chemicals, biohazardous materials, and other hazardous substances that require proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
