Metrology Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Metrology Supervisor to join our team at Precision Castparts Corp. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for establishing and monitoring the total first article dimensional inspection process, ensuring conformance to customer requirements.

• Establish and monitor the total first article dimensional inspection process, ensuring conformance to customer requirements.
• Supervise Layout Inspectors, CMM programmers, and gauge services department, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, sales, and customers to plan, schedule, coordinate, and complete layouts in accordance with SMP and customer schedule requirements, engineering specifications, and PCC SMP QSM.
• Develop and implement calibration routines, maintain layout and other dimensional inspection equipment, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead the development and implementation of new inspection technology, such as structured light inspection, to improve process efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop and approve outside layout sources when required, ensuring adherence to company standards and customer requirements.
• Serve as a liaison with customers on inspection and technology development issues, providing expert guidance and support.
• Develop and train layout, gauge technicians, and CMM programming personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
• Assist in the development and checking of layout reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and four years' experience in inspection, preferably with layout and/or CMM programming experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, with a focus on dimensional measurement and inspection.
• Prior supervision experience and CAD experience are highly desirable.
• Expertise in the use of Excel and fluency in Word and PowerPoint are essential.
• Ability to travel, as required, and excellent communication skills to interact with different levels of the organization, customers, and auditors.
