Position Summary:
Claxton Logistics Services, LLC is in search of a proficient Facilities Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive knowledge of maintenance practices for a variety of mechanical systems, including but not limited to overhead doors, HVAC systems, air compressors, and electrical control mechanisms. This role is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of our facility.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC units, pumps, blowers, and motors.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical controls, lighting fixtures, and other essential equipment.
- Carry out work orders related to building and grounds upkeep, including landscaping tasks.
- Adjust equipment settings and document significant issues in our computerized maintenance management system.
- Keep precise records and generate reports concerning daily maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with external contractors for specialized maintenance services.
- Comply with company Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support operational tasks as required and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of mechanical operations, maintenance, and repair techniques.
- Expertise in electrical systems, including light-duty power systems (240V, single and three-phase).
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Practical experience with hand tools, pneumatic tools, air compressors, and other maintenance-related equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, particularly OSHA regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Additional trade-specific training is advantageous.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the maintenance sector.
Licenses and Certifications:
- A valid state driver's license is required.
- Successful completion of drug screening and background checks is necessary.
- Completion of OSHA 30 General Industry training within the first month of employment.
