Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients with heart failure, demonstrating clinical expertise and advanced knowledge.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health problems within the specialty area of cardiology.
- Collaborate and consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals in the area of clinical expertise.
- Develop educational systems and strategies for teaching patients, families, and staff on topics related to cardiology.
- Mentor graduate students in aspects of advanced practice.
- Participate in and/or conduct research pertinent to the area of expertise.
- Masters degree from an accredited school/college of nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse (IL) license.
- Advance Practice Registered Nurse (IL) license.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse certification by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as specified by the department.
- Controlled substance license and DEA registration required as specified by the department.
- Minimum of two (2) years of APRN experience with Cardiology patients.
