The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery (L&D) provides comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. Key responsibilities include assessing and monitoring the health of pregnant women at various stages of labor, administering medications as prescribed, and collaborating with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective care.

Key Responsibilities:Pre-Labor and Admission Assessment:
  • Assess and monitor the health of pregnant women at various stages of labor, including gathering health histories, vital signs, and physical assessments.
  • Educate patients on labor and delivery processes, pain management options, and what to expect during childbirth.
Labor Support and Monitoring:
  • Monitor the progress of labor through regular assessment of contraction patterns, cervical dilation, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor their effects.
  • Provide continuous emotional support and pain management throughout the labor process.
Assisting with Delivery:
  • Assist obstetricians or midwives during vaginal deliveries, including providing instrumentation assistance and suctioning.
  • Participate in cesarean section procedures by ensuring the sterile field and assisting with the delivery process.
Postpartum Care:
  • Monitor the health and recovery of both the mother and the newborn in the immediate postpartum period.
  • Assist with breastfeeding support, including teaching proper latch techniques and addressing any concerns related to infant care.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $$120,000 - $150,000 per year, based on 36 hours per week and 12 hour shifts.
  • A tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
