Field Engineer

The D.A. Collins Family of Companies has a long history of delivering safe, high-quality projects to the construction industry. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing construction plans, reviewing shop drawing submittals, and tracking quantities of work in place. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and analyze construction plans to ensure compliance with project specifications
• Review shop drawing submittals to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Measure and track quantities of work in place to ensure project progress
• Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations
• Solve moderately complex problems using analytical and critical thinking skills
• Assist with creation of functional project schedules meeting desired deadlines
• Maintain organized project records to ensure efficient information management
• Dedicate to safety and maintaining a healthy work environment
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Perform a variety of tasks that may include periodically having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as back up spotting and hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocol

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or environmental engineering
• Knowledge of business concepts and accounting
• 1-3 years' experience/internships/co-ops in a heavy civil environment
• Strong work ethic
• Self-motivated
• Proficient computer skills
• Values teamwork and communication
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen
• Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to report to work on time
• Position will require travel

Compensation:

• Field Engineer I: $53,600-$90,000 (Southern Tier: $58,960-$99,000)
• Field Engineer II: $57,600-$96,250 (Southern Tier: $63,360-$105,875)

Note: Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
