Job Description

We seek an experienced Civil Engineer to join our National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) Team, providing support to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Infrastructure Engineering Center in Chicago, IL. This role involves working on various projects, including developing project plans, performing site surveys, and providing technical support.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical support for the FAA's Infrastructure Engineering Center, including project engineering packages, site-specific project plans, and specifications.
  2. Perform site surveys to collect project data and research construction codes and ordinances.
  3. Develop analysis, recommendations, and solutions for issues identified during site surveys.
  4. Compile and complete project documents, including scope of work, project transmittal, drawing and specification lists, operational risk management checklists, and airspaces case documents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience in design and tower, shelter, and similar structure projects.
  • Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities, including metal equipment towers, commercial/industrial structures, roof replacements, emergency and battery backup systems, small HVAC systems, remote site work, road design, concrete, site grading, equipment shelters, concrete foundations, structural, environmental permitting, lightning protection and grounding, hazmat abatement, and construction risk management.
  • Familiarity with project management software, computer-aided design (CAD), and utility layout design.
