Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.
About the Role- This is a Full-time and Part-time position, with competitive hourly rates ranging from $18.50 to $23.00 per hour.
In this role, you will work in an outpatient orthopaedic setting, under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, treating patients with various orthopaedic injuries, including pre and post-surgical conditions.
Key Responsibilities- You will review physical therapy documentation, noting indications, contraindications, precautions, and safety considerations for each patient.
- Review medical records at each visit, monitoring changes in medical status and procedures, collecting data on current conditions, and determining if safety parameters have been met.
- Communicate with physical therapists when there are significant changes in patient medical status or when interventions are beyond your scope of work.
- Explain treatment rationales and provide interventions compliant with federal and state licensing requirements, APTA standards documents, and facility policies.
- Ensure patient safety and dignity throughout treatment, adhering to established risk management strategies and HIPAA guidelines.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with completion of a NYS or APTA accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- NYS licensure is mandatory upon hire.
- Prior experience in sports medicine or outpatient orthopaedic environments is preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate should be able to remain standing and ambulatory for 75% of the workday, assist patients on/off equipment, and travel occasionally to various practice locations.
