Position Overview

We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a Lead Ultrasound Technologist to join our dynamic team at Pediatrix Medical Group. This role is essential in establishing a new office within our well-respected practice, located in a rapidly expanding community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
  • Procedure Explanation: Clearly explain ultrasound procedures to patients prior to testing, providing necessary education related to medical ultrasound.
  • Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and accurately record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for physician interpretation.
  • Assistance in Invasive Procedures: Support physicians during invasive procedures that require ultrasound guidance.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive patient charts and records, processing sonographic data and observations for the interpreting physician.
  • Billing: Submit completed billing worksheets on a daily basis.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure the ultrasound equipment is functioning properly, recognizing malfunctions and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain an adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.
  • Schedule Coordination: Oversee and coordinate the ultrasound schedule to ensure efficient operations.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to AIUM ultrasound guidelines.
  • Interpersonal Relations: Foster effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public, acting in a non-directive and non-judgmental manner.
  • Ethical Considerations: Recognize and address ethical, legal, and professional issues in providing care, particularly for pregnant women.
  • Professional Development: Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a current and valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound, with a minimum of two years in an Allied Health Educational Program and one year of on-the-job training in ultrasonography, or completion of an accredited ultrasonography educational program. Candidates should also maintain or be eligible for certification from the American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

Skills Required
  • Proficient in operating ultrasound equipment.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
