Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse to join our team at Singing River Health System Hospital in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse will provide skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care established by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled technical nursing care to patients according to predefined standards and a plan of care established by a Nurse Practitioner or Physician.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an approved school of practical nursing.
  • Current Mississippi State licensure.
  • LPN has Mississippi Board of Nursing licensure for practice in the expanded role.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Appropriate nursing practice/experience within the past three (3) years.
Work Environment:

The work environment involves regular requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. The work involves exerting a moderate amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Physical Demands:
  • Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, copier, and 10-key.
  • Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound.
  • Work requires close visual acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision.
Mental Demands:
  • Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities.
  • Must demonstrate communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
  • Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with moderate stress levels and still remain poised.
Special Demands:
  • Must have a valid driver license as job may require traveling throughout the SRHS service area.
  • Must have strong general computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge and skill in using Microsoft Excel preferred.
