POSITION SUMMARY

The individual in this role will be tasked with delivering gymnastics training to children aged 1-14, catering to various skill levels from novice to advanced. Responsibilities encompass a range of activities including stretching, lifting, and providing support during exercises. The ideal candidate should demonstrate reliability, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of responsibility. Prior experience in gymnastics, physical education, or child development is advantageous.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster a creative and collaborative environment while working effectively within a team.
  • Maintain professional communication with supervisors, participants, and parents regarding program details and student progress.
  • Exhibit professionalism, energy, and dependability while managing multiple tasks.
  • Prepare necessary materials and equipment for classes and activities.
  • Guide students in preparation for demonstrations and performances.
  • Manage class dynamics, including greetings and demonstrations.
  • Engage positively and encouragingly with children through verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles (auditory, visual, kinesthetic, etc.).
  • Implement appropriate progressions tailored to the age and skill level of students.
  • Adhere to structured class formats while remaining flexible to the needs of the participants.
  • Report any safety issues related to equipment and facilities.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Experience working with children is essential.
  • Preferred: 2 years of training in gymnastics or child development.
  • Understanding of basic gymnastics progressions and terminology.

Licenses or Certifications:

Driver's License is preferred.

Special Requirements:

Adhere to USA Gymnastics SafeSport guidelines.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and information management skills with children, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to motivate and lead participants in gymnastics activities.
  • Capability to maintain safety and control within a group setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position involves significant physical activity, including lifting, carrying, climbing, and maneuvering objects weighing between 5-50 pounds. The role may require prolonged periods of standing, demonstrating physical techniques, and assisting students with corrections.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work typically occurs in a shared environment with multiple groups of varying ages and abilities, necessitating effective class management for safety in a dynamic and often noisy facility.
