ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for executing end-of-day procedures for the hotel Guest Service area, ensuring accurate reporting of daily activities through organization and verification of information; identifying and rectifying discrepancies; posting accounts; generating and distributing daily reports.

KEY FUNCTIONS:
  • Audit, balance, and report on all food and beverage outlets' cash and credit operations, including checks, over/short figures, deposits, counts, house charges, and postings, ensuring all registers are reset for accurate information.
  • Adhere to specified protocols to reconcile cashier's reports with the restaurant system nightly, investigating and posting any unresolved tickets from day shifts.
  • Maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including preliminary reconciliations, detailed transactions, and final reports to accounting.
  • Audit, balance, and report on front desk operations, ensuring accuracy in room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, and disputed charges.
  • Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for daily report preparation, ensuring accurate handling of all cash transactions.
  • Balance and audit room revenue, food and beverage revenue, cashier's reports, and guest and house accounts, assisting in the preparation of all relevant daily revenue reports.
  • Transmit credit card batches and run the final night audit after confirming all revenues are balanced.
  • Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports along with supporting documents.
  • Act as the hotel system liaison during night hours.
  • Perform all Guest Service Representative functions as needed, including assisting with room reservations and answering hotel phone calls.
  • Undertake any other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience; college degree preferred.

Experience: Six to twelve months in a related position or office environment, with accounting or hospitality experience being advantageous.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent computer and cash handling skills are required, along with the ability to stand for extended periods. A sociable, outgoing demeanor focused on guest service is essential. Adaptability to changing guest needs, good judgment, and conflict resolution skills are necessary. Effective communication of information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests is expected.
