The Formulation Chemist will play a pivotal role in the Laboratory Department, focusing on the development of formulation expertise to address client requirements. This position involves working within a laboratory setting, gaining exposure to various technologies, particularly in the realms of industrial lubricants, sealants, and thread compounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute experiments, formulate, apply, evaluate, and troubleshoot a range of lubricants, sealants, and thread compounds, while establishing specifications for the industrial sector.
  • Maintain comprehensive and precise documentation of laboratory activities and outcomes.
  • Communicate technical information and materials effectively to colleagues both within and outside the organization.
  • Collaborate with fellow chemists, technicians, field sales/service representatives, manufacturing teams, and clients.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment, addressing current and future client needs regarding lubricants.
  • Develop and oversee formulations and instructions based on laboratory and production batch data.
  • Possess knowledge of ASTM methods applicable to grease testing.
  • Implement rework processes as necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Control team to ensure appropriate testing specifications and methodologies.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Grease Formulation.
  • Prior experience in formulation and laboratory settings, with a focus on customer interaction and support in industrial lubrication, sealants, or thread compounds.
  • Strong understanding of industrial lubricants.
  • Proficiency in designing industrial lubricants, sealants, and thread compounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various functions, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
