Role Summary:
The Psychological Assessment Specialist is responsible for administering psychological and neuropsychological evaluations to assist healthcare professionals in diagnosing and managing patient conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts and evaluates psychological assessments, including cognitive, academic, neuropsychological, behavioral, personality, and emotional tests.
- Monitors, manages, and records patient behavior and condition throughout the assessment process.
- Documents testing outcomes and patient conditions in medical records. Communicates findings to the healthcare team.
- May engage in research activities and assist with scheduling, insurance verification, coding, billing, and reimbursement processes.
- Utilizes critical thinking and decisive judgment while working independently in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related discipline.
Preferred:
Master's degree in Psychology or Clinical Social Work.
Licensure/Certification:
No specific licensure required.
Preferred:
Certification as a Specialist in Psychometry (CSP) by The Board of Certified Psychometrists (BCP), and/or state licensure as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor.
Experience:
No prior experience required.
