Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Dartmouth Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality adult cardiac echocardiogram procedures, including 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, and 3-D LVEF Echocardiograms.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all basic adult cardiac echocardiogram procedures, editing tracings, making measurements, and entering data into the computer.
  • Distinguish between normal and abnormal cardiac findings, recognizing arrhythmias and implications of specific cardiac and related diagnoses to obtain optimal studies.
  • Operate complex equipment, including adult echoes on-call and participating in pediatric on-call echoes with the assistance of a pediatric back-up sonographer.
  • Participate in exercise stress pharmacologic stress echo training and weekly imaging conference presentations.
  • Facilitate patient flow within the section, maintain a proactive approach in dealing with patient concerns, and participate in Quality Assurance and quality control programs.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program or RDCS/RCS-eligible background with 1 year of cardiac echo experience.
  • Proficient on all equipment in the lab within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Certified through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) in Adult Echocardiography.
  • Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
  • BLS certification required.
