We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Dysart Unified School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities- Teach district-approved curriculum to students in a way that adapts to their individual needs.
- Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and individualized instruction to meet the needs of each pupil.
- Communicate regularly with parents through various means, including newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to create an effective learning atmosphere.
- Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep records, and prepare progress reports.
- Identify student needs and make referrals for individual education plans.
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
- Plan and coordinate the work of teacher aides, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the student.
- Create an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, interest centers, and exhibits of student work.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members, and vendors.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Valid Arizona teaching certificate.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
- Reading and interpreting general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals.
- Writing general correspondence and speaking effectively with others.
- Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Principles and practices of program administration.
- Basic principles and applications of critical thinking and analysis.
- Best practices, trends, and emerging technologies.
- Principles and techniques of effective oral presentations.
- Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.
- Specialized equipment relevant to the area of assignment.
Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Work is routinely performed in an indoor classroom environment.
