Role Summary:
We are currently seeking enthusiastic voter registration canvassers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage with community members in various high-traffic locations and events to facilitate voter registration. If you are passionate about civic engagement and community organization, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- No formal educational qualifications are required for this role.
- Physical stamina is essential, as the position involves standing and walking for extended periods (up to 8 hours daily) while interacting with the public.
- A strong interest in discussing progressive political issues, advocacy, and public policy is necessary.
- Flexibility to work on both weekdays and weekends is expected.
- Ability to memorize and deliver provided scripts and statements accurately.
- Consistently achieve daily and weekly conversation targets.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, including active listening and interpersonal abilities.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, depending on the task requirements.
- Demonstrate good time management skills to meet specific goals within designated timeframes.
- Must be able to travel to the office at the beginning of each shift.
- Possession of a smartphone with a data plan is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comfortable using apps on smartphones or tablets.
- Previous experience in canvassing, fundraising, or related fields (including door-to-door sales or outreach work).
- Experience in telemarketing or retail marketing is advantageous.
- Background in social services or community organizing is a plus.
Compensation:
This position offers an hourly wage of $24.
