Automotive Damage Assessor

Ted's Body Shop Inc. is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate estimates that contribute to the shop's reputation for quality automotive services and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of automotive repair processes, parts, and labor requirements. They will be detail-oriented with excellent precision and accuracy in estimating vehicle damage, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough visual inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of damage and required repairs.
• Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates using estimating software and manual calculations.
• Interact with customers to explain repair procedures, provide cost estimates, and address concerns.
• Collaborate with insurance adjusters to ensure accurate and timely claims processing.
• Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of required parts for repairs.
• Provide technical guidance to technicians and other team members regarding repair methods and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, repair details, and communication with customers and insurers.
• Review completed repairs to ensure they align with estimates and meet quality standards.
• Address customer inquiries, provide updates on repair progress, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal training or certification in automotive estimating is preferred.
• Proven experience as an estimator, with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
