Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Railcar Repair Operations Manager to join our team at Marmon Holdings, Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective repair of railcars, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of hourly employees in all repair activities, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to ensure they meet their performance goals.
  • Ensure safe working habits and conditions by conducting regular training and reviews of employees and their work areas, in compliance with OSHA, AAR, and FRA regulations.
  • Support the Quality Assurance Department in ensuring compliance with all quality, environmental, health, and safety regulations, including maintaining training and compliance records.
  • Make recommendations to the Repair Manager to improve departmental processes, while maintaining established quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels of materials and equipment, working with the Material Manager to ensure proper inventory control and minimize waste.
  • Participate in employee interviews, new hire orientation, and performance evaluations, as well as internal and external audits.
  • Document and submit corrective discipline as needed, and participate in daily production meetings to provide status updates on railcars in process.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in railcar inspections, testing, and repair.
  • Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration regulations and Association of American Railroads Interchange Rules.
  • Ability to read prints and drawings, including weld and nondestructive testing symbols.
