The City of Live Oak is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team in the Water Distribution Systems department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our water distribution systems, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of water to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair water distribution systems, including pipes, valves, and pumps.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles used in the water distribution process.
- Conduct inspections and tests to identify and address potential issues with the water distribution system.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
- Respond to emergency situations and perform repairs as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in water distribution systems maintenance or a related field.
- Knowledge of water distribution systems, including pipes, valves, and pumps.
- Ability to work at heights, lift heavy objects, and operate heavy equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights of up to 50 feet.
