Job Summary

The Material Handler - Assembly position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, warehousing products and materials, and supplying production lines with requested products and/or components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain forklift equipment daily to ensure safe operation.
  • Complete daily inspection checklists and document findings.
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trucks, warehouse products, and materials in a manner that prevents damage.
  • Use RF scanners to track receipts, issues, returns, and bar code locations.
  • Verify product and material counts, quantities, and descriptions received, shipped, or warehoused.
  • Deliver products and/or components to production lines as requested.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and timely associated with product and material movement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and loading dock area.
  • Perform regular inventory and cycle counts.
  • Change forklift propane tanks and/or batteries as needed.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Ensure overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
  • Work efficiently and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Overtime may be required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Minimum of two years' experience operating material handling equipment (forklift) required.
