The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in advancing the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare by delivering exceptional patient-centered care within a collaborative team environment. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care through the following responsibilities:
Key ResponsibilitiesDirect Patient Care
- Assess and triage patient concerns to determine necessary care.
- Perform clinical procedures, including injections, wound care, and administering treatments.
- Respond to emergency situations in accordance with nursing standards and protocols.
Clinical Administration
- Address patient inquiries and provider requests regarding medical issues and lab results.
- Ensure timely provider coverage by evaluating the urgency of lab results and medication requests.
- Document patient interactions and care plans in the electronic health records system.
- Provide clinical guidance and indirect supervision to medical assistants.
- Complete ongoing training to maintain compliance with position requirements.
- Assist with shift coverage at various Neighborhood locations as needed.
Immunization Program Management
- Review and reconcile immunization records with state registries and patient files.
- Verify accuracy of immunization orders, including vaccine type and dosage.
- Administer vaccines and maintain accurate documentation in relevant systems.
- Manage vaccine inventory and ensure compliance with storage guidelines.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on immunization protocols as necessary.
Patient Education
- Develop and implement patient education plans tailored to individual needs.
- Provide ongoing support and education for patients regarding their health conditions.
- Instruct patients on lab tests, medication usage, and health expectations.
Qualifications
Skills: Strong critical thinking and judgment skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines. Excellent communication skills, with a focus on emotional and cultural intelligence. Team-oriented with leadership capabilities to enhance clinic operations. Proficient in electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Education/Licenses: Bachelor's degree preferred. Valid CA Registered Nurse License required. Current BLS certification from an approved AHA provider required.
Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience in outpatient or general medicine preferred.
Compensation: $56.44 per hour, based on experience.
