Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and experience:

  • One year certified dental assistant program, or
  • Six months on-the-job experience, or
  • High school diploma and demonstrated ability to assume dental assistant responsibilities

Additionally, you will need to have a current dental assistant license in certain states, demonstrate a working knowledge of dental records and documentation, and be able to perform basic computer functions.

Responsibilities:

As a Dental Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding and demonstrating proper sterilization, biohazard, and infection control procedures in compliance with protocol
  • Demonstrating complete knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, maintenance, and proper tray setups
  • Performing all chairside procedures efficiently
  • Directing patient flow through teamwork and communication
  • Performing all necessary lab procedures
  • Upholding a positive rapport with staff members and patients at all times
  • Demonstrating safe and cost-effective practices when utilizing supplies and equipment
  • Assisting the office in achieving defined goals
