Job Overview

Position Summary

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of machinery and equipment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and quality, alongside a proactive approach to maintenance and repair tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Operate a variety of machinery and tools, including metal lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment, ensuring all operations are conducted safely.
  • Conduct repairs and adjustments on equipment to guarantee the production of high-quality products, responding swiftly to equipment failures.
  • Identify and report potential issues to management, facilitating timely resolutions and maintaining operational standards.
  • Perform mechanical repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks, including carpentry and pipefitting, as well as basic electrical work on systems ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC.
  • Utilize precision maintenance techniques, including alignment of shafts and rolls, to enhance equipment performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, conducting test runs on repaired machinery to ensure functionality.
  • Carry out lubrication and preventive maintenance on all equipment, employing welding and soldering techniques as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a High School diploma or GED.
  • Technical college education is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field is required, with experience in continuous operations being advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and reports effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to present information clearly to colleagues and management.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for managing work orders and shift reports.
  • Physical ability to perform duties that include walking, standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Availability

Willingness to work mandatory overtime and weekends is essential.

Compensation

Opportunities for overtime are available, with potential earnings reaching up to $100,000 annually.
