The Patient Support Associate plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff at Community Medical Center. This position is responsible for cleaning OR rooms, sub-sterile areas, and other designated areas within the department. Additionally, the Patient Support Associate is responsible for inventory management and transporting patients to and from the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in cleaning emergency spills and maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Properly transport and transfer patients, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Assist with patient care, including positioning and maintaining patient dignity
- Clean and sanitize transport equipment after each use
- Empty waste baskets, remove trash, and transport it to designated areas
- Follow patient identification procedures to ensure accurate transport
- Maintain par levels on housekeeping supplies and stock as needed
- Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas, following established schedules and methods
- Remain alert to patient conditions during transport and report any concerns to RN or other authorities
- Respond promptly to requests and maintain effective communication
- Monitor O2 flow meters to ensure adequate oxygen flow during transport
- Scrubs and buffs floors as requested
