Christman Facility Solutions is seeking a skilled Estimating Engineer to join our preconstruction team. As an Estimating Engineer, you will play a crucial role in projecting estimated costs of upcoming projects, aiding other members of the project planning team in the preparation of cost estimates, and assisting in developing unit pricing.
Key Responsibilities- Project Cost Estimation: Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications at various stages of design, including Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents.
- Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed estimates for various project types, including architectural interiors and civil and structural estimating.
- Quantity Take-Offs: Develop and organize Quantity Take-Offs for ease of audit.
- Estimate Review: Review estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with defined scope of work.
- Team Collaboration: Interact with multiple organizations to review, discuss project scope and estimate basis, and consult on company estimating methods and procedures.
- Documentation: Document management and organization, including preparing notes and meeting minutes.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year of work experience in the construction industry, with preference for candidates with estimating experience.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
