Lead Radiologic Technologist in Mammography and X-Ray

The Lead Radiologic Technologist in Mammography and X-Ray is a certified professional responsible for overseeing the operations within the Mammography Department. This role involves collaboration with the Diagnostic Imaging Manager to ensure clinical and technical excellence in imaging practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulations regarding mammography and X-Ray procedures.
- Oversee the technical performance of imaging equipment, maintaining quality control and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with medical staff to establish best practices and ensure staff competency in imaging modalities.
- Review outpatient imaging orders to confirm appropriateness and adherence to established protocols.
- Conduct ethical and lawful hospital operations, reporting any potential compliance issues as necessary.
Job Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging Services.
- Collaborates with technical and clerical staff within the Diagnostic Imaging department.
- Engages with Radiologists and other medical professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Work Environment:
This position operates within a hospital setting, with potential exposure to biological materials and infectious patients.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a healthcare environment.
- At least two years of experience in Mammography or Breast Imaging.
Educational Requirements:
- Associate of Science degree in Radiologic Technology.
Certifications:
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
- Registered Mammography Technologist (ARRT).
- State licensure as a Mammography Technologist in California.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ACR accreditation processes.
- Experience with State of California and MQSA annual surveys.
- Two years of experience assisting management with accreditation and licensure for mammography services.
Additional Skills:
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and patient privacy standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
- Competence in utilizing RIS/PACS and EHR systems.
