The Therapist shall manage the machine (linear accelerator) schedule and ensure adequate manning (minimum of 2 therapists during patient treatment) on the linear accelerator, will coordinate (with the approval of the physician staff) patient scheduling for radiation therapy treatments as well as simulations, and will assess clinic supply stock and order replacement supplies as necessary.
Therapists must participate in continuing education and demonstrate familiarity with modern radiation oncology therapy techniques and practices.
Required Experience and Skills
Radiation Therapy Technologist must have at least twelve (12) months experience during the last two (2) years as a fully licensed radiation therapist, have a minimum of twenty four (24) months of overall radiation treatment experience, and shall be proficient in the use of a Varian Trilogy linear accelerator, Millennium Mult-Leaf Collimator, CT machine operation and simulation techniques, Aria Record and Verify System (to include on-line review, electronic portal imaging, portal dosimetry techniques), stereotactic radiotherapy, image-guided radiation therapy to include fiducial alignment and cone-beam CT imaging, high dose rate (HDR) delivery devices, and related safety procedures.
Must have active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in radiation therapy (probation status NOT accepted).
US Citizenship is required.
