Position: Waste Management & Recycling Technician

Employment Type: Part Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday (No weekends)

Shift Times: Start at 6:30 pm or 7:00 pm, with shifts typically lasting 1-2 hours

Compensation: $20-$25 per hour based on experience

Position Summary

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is seeking a dedicated Waste Management & Recycling Technician to deliver nightly doorstep to dumpster waste and recycling collection services for a multifamily community. This role is ideal for individuals looking to supplement their income while maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect bagged waste, recyclables, and flattened cardboard from residents' doorsteps using provided equipment.
• Transport collected materials to designated dumpsters or compactors on-site.
• Sort recyclables into appropriate containers and check for contamination.
• Interact with residents courteously, ensuring a professional service experience.
• Issue Educational Courtesy Compliance Notices for improper waste disposal and document findings with photographs.
• Upload compliance notices and images into our application for record-keeping.
• Maintain cleanliness around dumpsters and collection areas.
• Return all equipment to its designated location after completing service.
• Perform additional tasks such as managing pet waste stations and community waste bins.
• Check out using our app at the end of your shift.
• This position requires significant walking and may involve climbing stairs. Some locations may necessitate the use of a personal open bed pickup truck.
• Enhance resident satisfaction and promote recycling initiatives within the community.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be reliable, conscientious, and exhibit a friendly demeanor towards residents and management.
• A valid Driver's License and the ability to operate a vehicle in Utah are required.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Possess a smartphone with an active data plan and location services enabled.
