Job Summary:

System One is seeking a highly skilled Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our branch in Owosso, MI. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing internal personnel and operations to optimize resources and deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers to assess their service needs and provide quotes for requested work
  • Delegate workloads and support growth initiatives
  • Oversee the open order aging report to ensure timely final invoices
  • Schedule and manage workflow through the shop
  • Ensure employees are qualified to perform assigned tasks
  • Interpret and enforce regulatory requirements, including NTTC, ASME/National Board, and CFR
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge among staff
  • Evaluate employee skills and recommend training as needed
  • Review and present requisitions for additional tooling
  • Maintain appropriate departmental staffing levels
  • Provide daily reporting and perform other duties assigned by the Branch Manager
  • Assist in the hiring process for department staff
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for department staff
  • Enforce company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in parts, fleets, and tank trailer service/repair
  • Degree in Operations Management or other business-related discipline
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in computer software and customer service oriented
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Highly ethical and detail-oriented
