The Colorado Children's Chorale is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Conductor to join our artistic team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing an intermediate-level treble choir, assisting with performance and training choirs, implementing education programs, and managing artistic contract staff.
Responsibilities:- Direct an intermediate-level treble choir in weekly rehearsals and all performances
- Direct school partnerships, community choir programs, and special projects as assigned
- Manage artistic contract musicians, including budgeting, hiring, scheduling, and payroll
- Coordinate with Wardrobe Manager for wardrobe distribution
- Prepare program information for concerts, quarterly ASCAP & BMI reports, and oversee production of annual archival recordings
- Assist with all aspects of artistic activities, including conducting performing choirs, performance camps, and touring
- Assist with music library, including music ordering, preparation, filing, and maintenance
- Maintain attendance records and parent communications for assigned choir
- Strong choral music educator and conductor with experience teaching diverse music through culturally responsive methodologies
- Dedication to anti-racism and equity
- Bachelor's degree in music or equivalent knowledge, skills, experience, and abilities in choral music
- Passion for working with children from diverse backgrounds
- Strong knowledge of vocal production and choral technique
- Competence in a variety of musical styles
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
This is a full-time position with benefits, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid vacation, and professional conference opportunities. Annual salary range is $55,000-$60,000.
