Role Summary:
The Metal Finisher is responsible for grinding and smoothing surfaces of various components. This role requires the ability to interpret basic instructions and correspondences, as well as the capability to compose simple written communications.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- At least one year of relevant experience
- Proficient in both verbal and written English
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and assess the surface of workpieces for any defects.
- Utilize grinding tools to eliminate scratches and imperfections from surfaces.
- Polish treated areas with finer abrasives to achieve a flawless finish.
- Replace worn grinding disks, wheels, and belts as necessary.
- Select appropriate grades of abrasive materials based on project specifications.
- Operate material handling equipment effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and containers.
- Capability to stand for extended periods.
- May involve repetitive motions.
- Must be adaptable to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and cold, due to the open nature of the warehouse environment.
