About Central Food Services

Pioneer operates a high-quality institutional kitchen that provides fully cooked meals to many of our residential programs, affordable meal options to other nonprofit organizations, prepared food for restaurants in the Puget Sound region, and work experience for our trainees. Our food services division is licensed by the Washington State Department of Agriculture as a food processor that allows us to process, package, and sell food in retail locations.

Our Mission

We provide more than 1,000 meals a day for extended care facilities, day nutrition centers, and residential reentry facilities in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties.

Job Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, clean floors and walls, and maintain general cleaning and sanitizing standards for CFS kitchens.
  • Maintain all food safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Assist cooks and cook trainers to produce and package food orders when needed.
  • Perform multi-tasking and work on more than one item at a time.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Assemble, package, and label products for delivery.
  • Assemble sack lunches and date each bag.
  • Wrap cold food with plastic wrap and label appropriately.
  • Build and wrap sandwiches for lunch sacks.
  • Assist in putting product deliveries away while rotating product and keeping dry storage areas and cold area storage areas clean and organized.
  • Wipe down stainless steel work areas with sanitizing solution.
  • Load and unload delivery vans.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid WA state Food handlers card.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment.
