Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician position at Saint-Gobain is a critical role that requires a highly skilled and versatile individual to perform a wide range of duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment, and for providing on-shift production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment

• Provide on-shift production support and ensure the smooth operation of facilities and equipment

• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas

• Perform corrective repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service

• Use a variety of hand, machining, fabrication, and power tools to perform duties

Requirements

• AAS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance, or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 2 years of directly related industrial maintenance and fabrication experience, or equivalent experience

• Thorough knowledge of test equipment, measuring systems, and familiarity with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems

• Ability to operate hoists, cranes, and metalworking tools and work off ladders, scaffolds, or lifts as required in a safe manner

• Comprehensive knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques and equipment

• Strong mathematical skills, with proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, procedures, and diagrams

• Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak English fluently

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with safety programs in a manufacturing environment

• Above-average time management skills

• Engagement towards facility safety and continuous learning

• Excellent attendance and ability to communicate within a team environment

• Ability to retain and retrieve technical information in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions

• Long hours may be necessary to meet deadlines

• Night shift work may be required for some candidates

• Working environment may include extended periods of standing, seasonal temperature extremes, and exposure to industrial solvents, above-average noise levels, and hazardous materials

Physical Demands

• Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards

• Job includes tasks that require bending, lifting materials weighing up to 50lbs., twisting, gripping, reaching, and fine manipulation

• May require long periods of standing
