The Adjunct – Information Systems Technology position at InsideHigherEd provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with a major emphasis on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The Adjunct role provides instruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair or other leadership members.
Key Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses as scheduled, designing curriculum that embraces diversity and fosters talent in students while modeling inclusive teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, submit grades timely, and communicate progress feedback to students throughout the semester.
- Conduct classes punctually and in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule, employing appropriate assessment techniques to measure students' performance.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, and academic challenge.
- Refer students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.
- Help ensure the College meets its responsibilities in identifying areas of opportunity and systemic concerns while reporting complaints alleging discrimination.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, equitable, and productive work and learning environment where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel valued and are able to contribute to their full potential.
- Foster and maintain a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related job experience.
- Experience in Python programming, including substantive experience in programming logic.
- Teaching experience is a plus.
$54.88 per hour.
Working ConditionsTypical office and classroom environment.
