Job Overview

The ideal candidates will possess a robust understanding of Department of Defense (DOD) information security protocols and will be tasked with safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our clients' information systems.

Security Clearance Requirement:
  • Possession of an active Secret or Top Secret clearance is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Information System Security: Develop and uphold security policies, procedures, and best practices. Perform regular security evaluations and risk assessments. Create and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs). Ensure adherence to DOD security regulations and directives.
  • Incident Response and Management: Oversee incident response activities for security breaches or suspected compromises. Conduct comprehensive investigations and generate detailed reports. Formulate and maintain incident response strategies.
  • Security Controls: Execute and supervise security controls as outlined by NIST SP. Engage in continuous monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
  • Certification and Accreditation: Oversee the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process for information systems. Prepare and sustain Authorization to Operate (ATO) documentation.
  • Training and Awareness: Design and deliver security awareness training for all personnel. Provide specialized training for IT staff on security best practices.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Collaborate closely with IT teams to integrate security into system development and operations. Provide regular updates on security posture to management. Coordinate with external auditors and inspectors during security evaluations.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an ISSO or similar role within the DOD environment is essential. An active Secret or Top Secret security clearance is necessary.

Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of DOD security policies, including DISA STIGs and RMF. Familiarity with NIST SP security controls. Experience with security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and SCCM. Understanding of network security architectures and protocols.

Certifications: Sec+, A+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent information security certification is required. DOD M IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP+, CISSP-ISSEP) is preferred.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Capability to work effectively in a team setting. High attention to detail and organizational skills.
