Med Tech Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Med Tech to join our team at Woodland Place. As a Med Tech, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate resident care related to medications, working with all departments, medical community, families, and administrative staff to provide continuity and adherence to scope of practice and licensure.
  • Provide complete supervision of the medication room, pass techniques, documentation, and supervision, and provision of care related to medication.
  • Communicate resident status changes and ensure all medication documentation is current and correct.
  • Coordinate medication orders and deliveries with pharmacies and communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Monitor psychotropic medication use and ensure resident behaviors warrant the use of medication.
  • Regularly review, follow, and adhere to resident care plans.
  • Obtain and perform vital signs and weights as directed.
  • Control medication room access and key assignment.
  • Pour, pass, and assist with the administration of medications in accordance with state regulations.
  • Coordinate physician and other medical appointments.
  • Read all communication notes regarding the community between caregiver shifts.
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public.
  • Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly and understanding that the facility is considered the resident's home.
  • Ability to work responsibly as a team member and individual.
  • Honesty, ethics, fairness, dependability, and respect for confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others.
  • Meet all health requirements and pass a criminal background check.
Working Conditions:

Scheduled hours, possible overtime. Works in other positions temporarily when necessary. Subject to frequent interruptions and involved with residents, personnel, and visitors under all conditions and circumstances.

Medium work: the ability to exert 10-35 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
