Job Overview

Muller, Inc. is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman to oversee a small team and manage the operation of heavy machinery. This role is essential for executing various earthwork projects, including grading, excavating, and trenching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and operate heavy machinery such as excavators, mini excavators, and bobcats while leading a crew of 3-4 personnel daily.
  • Implement erosion control strategies, including the installation of silt fences.
  • Excavate and construct bioretention facilities, rain gardens, ponds, and sediment basins.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as mucking out and re-grading ponds.
  • Accurately shoot grades for stakeout and interpret cut sheets.
  • Conduct fine grading operations.
  • Install underdrain systems on roadway projects.
  • Address additional grading and excavation requests from clients as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in heavy equipment operation.
  • Proficient in operating mini excavators and/or bobcats; experience with full-sized excavators, loaders, and dozers is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills for direct client interaction and crew management.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Possession of a current and valid Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be physically capable of performing manual labor in various conditions, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.). Regular tasks will involve sitting, standing, and using hands for operation and communication. Additional physical activities may include walking, climbing, and balancing.
