Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Hunter Truck. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing minor repairs without supervision, diagnosing the cause of any malfunction, and performing the repair as directed by a supervisor. You will also assist other technicians with major repairs, communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts, and document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order
  • Examine the assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
  • Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company insurability standards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational technical school training or equivalent experience
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred
  • Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification preferred
