Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on all machines and equipment
  • Diagnose problems and maintain or repair machines as needed
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks to promote longevity of equipment
  • Install, remove, fabricate, alter, and rebuild machines/equipment as needed
  • Plan, lay out, and fabricate parts and machine equipment
  • Carry out all processes via critical bench and machine operations
  • Construct, alter, repair, and retrofit intricately designed and constructed tools, fixtures, gages, machine attachments, and mechanisms
  • Provide project leadership on major installation or revisions of machines and equipment
  • Mentor apprentices and create and complete work requests and work orders

Requirements:

  • Certificate of completion of four-year apprentice program or equivalent
  • Journeyman Machine Repair, Department of Labor Card preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck certification
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of equipment and related test instruments

Work Environment: The Machine Repair Technician will work in a manufacturing environment with large machinery and equipment. The position requires constant mental and visual alertness to avoid potential serious injury to self and others. The technician will be required to move and lift materials and/or products weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally more.
