Welcome to Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital, where we focus on delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a culture of excellence. We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in daily rounds to identify and manage patient needs, and provide medical care and care coordination to patients in the Post-Surgical Unit (PSU).
  • Work collaboratively with supervising physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Perform examinations, interpret data, order laboratory and diagnostic tests, establish diagnosis and treatment plans, and document patient status in the medical record.
  • Coordinate and complete patient admissions/discharge education, including discharge summaries and prescriptions, in a timely manner.
  • Consult with patient/family members/guardians regarding discharge plans and make appropriate referrals for home care needs.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with surgeons, consulting physicians, allied providers, nurses, case managers, and department personnel.
  • Manage Emergency Room patients, including assessing patient needs, ordering and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnosing illness and disease, prescribing medications, formulating treatment plans, and performing non-surgical procedures.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' clinical experience as a RN in hospital Medical/Surgical, Emergency Room, or ICU unit.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with care team members, patients, and families.
  • Ability to make clinical decisions based on sound professional judgment.
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
