Radiation Therapist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at the Southfield Cancer Institute. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in administering radiation therapy to patients, preparing and positioning them for treatment, and maintaining detailed records of all therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation.
• Prepare and position patients for treatment, selecting anatomic parameters accurately.
• Maintain detailed records of all therapy sessions, ensuring compliance with regulatory agency standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and dosimetrists to deliver patient treatment plans.
• Maintain and adjust necessary equipment, including linear accelerators.
• Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.

Requirements

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy - Varian/ARIA experience preferred.
• One or more of the following certifications required: Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiation Therapy credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
