Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/EMT to join our team at the City of Hampton, VA. As a Firefighter/EMT, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and fighting fires. You will work closely with our team to ensure the safety of our community and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients
  • Fight fires and rescue people from burning buildings
  • Perform routine maintenance on fire trucks and equipment
  • Participate in training exercises and drills to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and procedures
  • Work closely with other firefighters and emergency medical technicians to ensure the safety of our community
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be certified as a Virginia Firefighter I & II and EMT, AEMT, EMT-I, or EMT-P
  • Must pass a physical agility test and a background check
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
