Position Overview: As a Nutrition Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting and improving the nutritional health of patients.
Key Responsibilities:

Role Summary
The Nutrition Specialist is tasked with planning, organizing, and executing nutritional services for transplant candidates, recipients, potential living donors, and their support systems. This role involves assessing nutritional requirements and developing care plans in conjunction with patients and their families for discharge and ongoing care. The Nutrition Specialist maintains communication with referral agencies and community resources. This position is pivotal in coordinating the nutritional care of transplant candidates and recipients, starting from the evaluation phase through to post-transplant support. Services are provided in a compassionate, culturally aware, and respectful manner, working closely with the transplant team.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
- Completion of a Dietetic Internship or an equivalent program accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience and advanced certifications in the specialty area are preferred.
Licensure and Certification
- Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or achieve registration within six months of hire.
- A valid Dietitian license in the state of South Dakota is required. If not yet licensed, a temporary nutritionist permit may be utilized for up to one year, with potential for multi-state licensure.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this position is competitive and based on experience.
